It's by faith.
“Faith doesn’t deny a problem’s existence. It denies a problem a place of influence.”
-Bill Johnson
Everything we do as Christians is by faith. We got saved by faith. By faith we believe that Jesus died and resurrected from the cross. By faith we believe that we have the eternal victory after our body dies. By faith we know that “for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28).
I’ve noticed in my life and those around me, that we can compartmentalize aspects of our world and our faith. For instance, we may activate our faith muscle (yes it’s a muscle!) when it comes to praying for someone, but when it comes to finding a new job, getting a raise, or finding a place to live we rely on our blood, sweat and tears.
Did you know that even your very breath, right now, is by faith? Everything is held together by our faith in God’s goodness. And there is a beautiful strength in shifting our focus towards a reliance on faith. Faith is where we begin to rely and trust on God - and without this, it’s is impossible for us to live the supernatural life of God’s power and provision.
Don’t get tripped up when things get hard! It is when we have hard things come up that we really have to make a conscious choice - to choose faith. Choosing faith is believing that all things really will work together for our good, because we have a Father that cares so much! (He’s especially fond of YOU!)
Don’t think that by believing God and believing that He will do what He said in His word is wishful thinking. That you’d be better off if you just worried and anxiously toiled over the issue every morning. Bill Johnson, a leader in the Church said this, “Faith doesn’t deny a problem’s existence. It denies a problem a place of influence.” Whew! Did you get that?!
If you’re anxious and stressed about a problem, truly it is because you have elevated it a place above your faith in God. Through prayer, worship, and reading God’s word and promises we are to put “all things working together” on the highest pedestal. It is what needs to influence our thinking, our doing, our achieving!
Today, how can you re-order your problems or needs? How can you allow God’s powerful and miracle-working love a higher place of influence in your life? Trust God today for every little thing and every big thing.
