Be like little children

I was watching my granddaughter the other day. She is 18 months old and getting more and more curious. She must have spent an hour just playing with nesting cups (beakers as we say in the UK). Putting them in and out of each other. Blowing into them. Bashing them together. Who thought you could do so much with cups!

I recalled a certain verse in Matthew.

He (Jesus) called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  Matthew 18:1-5

What does it mean to come like little children?

Be like them.

Unworldly. Unworried. Teachable. Curious. Live in the moment. Trusting. Have fun. Delight in the small things. Get excited about outings. Revel in nature.

You fill in the blank.

Encourage you to fill in the blank. Contemplate this verse. Ask God questions about it.
